When it comes to looking after your oral health, prevention is always better than cure. Routine check-ups coupled with a great dental care regime at home can reduce the chance of problems developing later on.
Gum disease
Have bleeding gums? You may have the early stages of gum disease. During a check-up, we check for any signs of gum disease and, if needed, will refer you to our hygienist so your teeth remain as clean and tartar-free as possible.
Tooth decay and cavities
The best way to prevent tooth decay is through a regular and thorough dental cleaning regime at home. We give brushing techniques and advice during routine check-ups, helping you to keep your teeth and gums as healthy and clean as possible. We use x-rays to spot any cavities or decay. If we do spot issues, we arrange treatment to address the problems before they get worse.
Temporomandibular disorder (TMD) and bruxism
If you suffer from jaw pain or TMD, it could be a problem caused by clenching or grinding your teeth – a condition called bruxism. As this mostly happens at night, it is difficult to prevent. Custom-made night guards help lessen the impact of bruxism on your teeth, preventing any damage to your teeth and also lessening the tension in your jaw.

Children’s preventative dentistry
We give young teeth the best chance at staying healthy and whole for as long as possible. Our dentists make sure you get as much advice and support with helping your children with their dental care at home. We can apply fissure sealants on the back teeth to protect them from decay. Additionally, we can help strengthen teeth with fluoride varnish.
